If you’re on Twitter and live in Plymouth you’ve probably come across Chris Penberthy. He’s our lead organiser this year, and also runs the Devon Social Media Cafe. We think he lives on Twitter, but he denies this and says he has a life. We think he might be fibbing – so we’ve done some research…
Chris has been on Twitter since 6th July 2006 (a total of 981 days) – in that time he has tweeted 23,861 times – an average of just under 25 times a day. There are 10 days until PlymTwest – so on past performance we can expect him to have tweeted just over 24,100 times by then.
Can we encourage Chris to up his tweeting rate? Could he reach 25,000 tweets by the end of Twestenders: PlymTwest the After Party? That means an extra 900 tweets in 10 days. Or could we make him go even higher?
Chris has agreed to try to do this – and has said he will try to up his tweeting rate by 50 tweets for every £10 donated to this challenge.
We think that’s reasonable. We know he has no broadband access during the day and we’re trying to keep him busy doing admin for us to distract him – so we’ll be pushing him, and if he manages to do it we’ll have evidence that he lives on Twitter.
