Plymtwest the party

What:

Where can you get an evening of great entertainment featuring five local music acts, a celebrity auction, a fun casino, bar and sideshows for just £10?

Answer: At the PlymTwest Party of course! And what’s more, everyone is donating their time and services for free so the full £10 goes to The Chestnut Appeal; Plymouth Twestival’s charity partner for 2011.

Make sure you join us at Plymouth Albion Rugby Football Club right from the start at 6.30pm when lots of fun begins and stay with us until we call last orders at 11pm.

The evening kicks off at 7pm with singer songwriter Chris Good performing some of his self-penned songs to get the evening underway. Chris is from Plymouth and sings from the heart. His songs are emotive with strong lyrics and catchy melodies. You can follow him on twitter too: @chrisgoodbyname

At 7.30pm, The Wishbones take to the stage. A group of close friends whose love for music and the instruments they play has seen them blur the line between folk-rock and reggae. Their songs are bound to get you bopping. Send them a tweet: @thewishbones.

From 8pm, it’s The Alex Hart Band (@alexhartmusic). She may be only small – but wow what a voice! It’s definitely true what they say about little packages! Joined by her band, Alex brings her soulful sound to the PlymTwest Party. You really won’t want to miss this performance!

We take a break at 8.40pm to welcome celebrity auctioneer Graham Barton. Along with his ‘dolly dealers’ Graham – best known for his appearances on TV’s Homes Under The Hammer – will be encouraging us to part with a few more pennies and pounds for charity as some fantastic lots are offered up to the highest bidder.

At 9.40pm, it’s back to the music and another set from Chris Good (just because he’s on twice does not give you an excuse to turn up late…!).

Then at 10pm, our headline acts, Francis And The Drakes (@francisdrakes) – and Exeter singer songwriter Ellie Williams (@elliewilliams) – will have your feet tapping from 10pm until last orders. If you’ve not heard either act before you’re in for a real tweet! A love of Plymouth is the inspiration for many of Francis and the Drakes’ songs – and if you’ve not yet heard fantastic vocal talent of Ellie Williams, you’re in for such a treat you won’t want to go home!

And of course, if we’ve got you in the dancing mood, you don’t have to….. just check out the details for TwestEnd – The After Party – and join us as we dance our way out of PlymTwest 2011.
