The Operation Henry Trust

The Operation Henry Trust is a charity that offers support to sufferers of Pancreatic Cancer and their families in the Ivybridge and Plymouth areas. The Trust seeks to meet the basic needs of pancreatic cancer sufferers in order to alleviate the stress of facing a terminal prognosis. Their dream is that they will be able help every applicant in a truly meaningful way.

Pancreatic cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer death. It is nearly always fatal – it is estimated that 25,000 people may die from this disease this year. The Operation Henry Trust is pleased that the groundbreaking new CyberKnife treatment will become available at Derriford Hospital; however, this will lead to an increase in the demand for their services.

The Operation Henry Trust provides average grants of between £50 and £150 to enable to a pancreatic sufferer with limited means and their carer to attend specialist treatment at Derriford Hospital through the provision of travel and accommodation costs. A donation of £100 would make a difference to the life of a terminally ill person.

This is a great cause, and David Snelling works tirelessly to grow the charity. Help from The Operation Henry Trust can make a real difference to the families and sufferers of this terrible disease, so I really hope this charity gets the support it deserves.

  • Neil Trigger

I second Sophie’s comments. There are noble charities on the nominated list, but Operation Henry is run with the utmost integrity and care, with David and his team showing absolute dedication to making the last days of terminal patients and their families the best the possibly can be.

I agree with Sophie’s and Neil’s comments. Whilst survival rates for many types of cancer have improved significantly in recent years the survival rate for pancreatic cancer has not changed at all in 40 years. Sufferers of this devastating disease need all the help they can get.

I totally agree with the comments already made,David is a man on a mission,he and his team are helping many people suffering from this terrible disease. They deserve all the help and support available.
