The Operation Henry Trust is a charity that offers support to sufferers of Pancreatic Cancer and their families in the Ivybridge and Plymouth areas. The Trust seeks to meet the basic needs of pancreatic cancer sufferers in order to alleviate the stress of facing a terminal prognosis. Their dream is that they will be able help every applicant in a truly meaningful way.
Pancreatic cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer death. It is nearly always fatal – it is estimated that 25,000 people may die from this disease this year. The Operation Henry Trust is pleased that the groundbreaking new CyberKnife treatment will become available at Derriford Hospital; however, this will lead to an increase in the demand for their services.
The Operation Henry Trust provides average grants of between £50 and £150 to enable to a pancreatic sufferer with limited means and their carer to attend specialist treatment at Derriford Hospital through the provision of travel and accommodation costs. A donation of £100 would make a difference to the life of a terminally ill person.
